SYI runs as a small, static site powered by Hugo. The goal is to keep tracking light while still understanding if the tools stay online. This page explains what data the site touches and how you can ask questions.

Cookies and Ads

  • Google AdSense scripts may load on selected pages. AdSense can set cookies or similar storage to measure impressions, detect fraud, and personalize or contextualize ads. Visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads to learn how Google uses data and how to manage your ad settings.
  • AdSense-enabled pages may display “Ad” labels or similar indicators to help you identify them.
  • I do not run additional trackers or sell any behavioral data. If your browser blocks third-party cookies, the apps will still work.

Application Data

  • Each tool runs client-side. Inputs such as search terms, wildcard patterns, or contact data stay in your browser. They are not stored on my servers.
  • No data is sent to or stored on my servers unless explicitly stated, such as when external APIs are used.
  • Some projects fetch external APIs (for example, parking sensors or dictionary endpoints). Requests go directly from your browser to those providers; their own privacy policies apply.
  • Parking Data: If you use the parking tool, the app may send parking availability data from your device to an external API to improve the accuracy of parking information. This data is anonymized and does not include any personally identifiable information.

Logs and Diagnostics

  • Basic server logs capture IP address, user agent, requested path, and timestamp. I retain logs for roughly 30 days to debug outages and abuse.
  • During updates I may enable temporary diagnostics (like the /diag endpoint) to confirm that ads or scripts load. These diagnostics focus on runtime state, not personal profiles, and are purged after testing.
  • If diagnostics are enabled, a notification will be displayed on the site to inform users.

Data Accuracy Disclaimer

  • Sensor data, and dictionaries records come from third parties. I cannot guarantee accuracy or freshness. Treat the results as informational only and verify before making important decisions.
  • For example, parking data is sourced from Green Day and University APIs, and dictionary data is sourced from RAE and WordReference.
